Title: Kdrill plate installed

I put this plate on my Kdrill, because I don’t trust the float, and I’d rather not have it sink below the ice.  1/8” Aluminum cut to 8-3/8” OD with a 7/8” ID hole for the spindle, with 2 #12x3/4 SST self drilling sheet metal screws.

I think that’s a better insurance. I’ve always wondered if the ice isn’t too thick, if it fell out and sank a bit before bobbing up, couldn’t it slide under the ice and not always straight back up the hole? Plus if there’s any current there it goes anyway.
