Title: How long?
Post by: mkeller on Feb 21, 2018, 08:02 AM
How long do you feel the ice will be good for fishing?  Would like to sneak one more trip in before ice out.  Would be a couple weeks before I could consider making it back up there.  Thanks for the help.

We have lots of good ice. Its been very, very cold this February and I think we will have good ice all the way through March.

Agreed the 10 day forecast is below normal temps and with over 20 inches of ice.  Will be fishing well into late march

Should have good ice until the end of March I believe,,, Attached pic (if it does attach) was taken March 2016 when had a lot warmer weather,,, BUT needless to say I was casting from shore towards the ice and the ICE FISHERMEN on the ice,,, Kind of hard to see but they are there.  Did not see any fall through but come on a fish is not worth that guys,,, Stay safe,,,

At least it won't be like 2012 where every lake in the state was ice free by third week of march.  Couldn't get a hotel room in 3 towns when we were snow goose hunting because of all of the out of state fishermen and muskrat trappers.
