Title: zing-it throw line
Post by: Chili on Nov 12, 2017, 07:18 AM
I made up a lightweight throw line that packs down small enough to fit in the pocket of my bibs. Its made of a arborist rope called zing-it.

https://www.amazon.com/Samson-Rope-180ft-Average-Strength/dp/B006JS1VNC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1510491436&sr=8-3&keywords=zing+it+line

Floats, doesn't tangle, and has a decent break strength. There's stronger cordage out there but for under $15 I have a 50' throw bag that's smaller than a beer can.

Looks like it would work...   I just use a dog dummy tied to 50' of poly rope.  Heavy enough to through a long ways, it floats and its cheap.

Same as the BlueDuck - orange dog dummy and rope...thinking of attaching a set of picks adjacent to dummy somehow.  Might make it easier for the swimmer to assist getting out (assuming they do not have picks).
