Title: Hello from East River
Post by: sodakdave on Oct 19, 2017, 06:13 PM
Hi all,

I just joined from a bit West of Sioux Falls. My son really fell in love with fishing this year, and doesn't want it to end so this year will be our first try at ice fishing. Starting to get geared up and waiting for the freeze.

I might have to take you up on that! What lakes do you normally hit up this area?

Absolutely planning on being at the institute. Probably all three days.

If I ever make it up North I'll do that. I actually have never been over to the Huron area.

Beaver is about 3 minutes from home unless there's a game at the school. I got really burned out on Scott's this summer. Nothing but bullheads. Hopefully this winter will produce something better.

Welcome to the group I'm over by Canton but put on quite a few miles traveling around the area to find some fish.  I've been gearing up also with a new flasher on its way as we speak and starting to pick up new lures.  Hope you have a good year and maybe we will run into each other on the ice.  Now we just need mother nature to keep cooling down..

Looking good and cold for the next 10 days. I can't wait to get out there. I'll also be at the Ice Institute probably Saturday. How old is your kid? Mine is now 4 and had been pretty good the last two times we went out last winter.

Mine is 11 (almost 12) and finally got a passion for fishing, but better late than never!
