Bait fish meeting
« on: Jan 25, 2018, 05:31 PM »
Hello Vermont fisherman and women. There is a baitfish meeting January 30 at the Springfield Vermont middle school. I think there will be two more meeting in February in other parts of the state. Show up and voice your opinion,  but if you don't show up, don't complain.

Load it, Drive it, Park it
Bait it, Jig it, Hook it
Catch it, Clean it, Cook it
Simply put just get out/ and do it

Bed ridden, didn't make the first one. But it would be enlightening to know a little better, what is in store ahead. Hoping for a little insight as to what was discussed, if some one was to choose to share.
Thanks for sharing, I do expect to attend a meeting.

I'm in NY, and a teacher, so taking time off to go is not an option....but would love to know how it turns out, as I've been having a week long ice fishing trip in Vermont for the last 10 years. Hoping bait laws loosen up, especially when it comes to Champlain  since on the other side of the pond its happening anyway....Thanks any updates :-)

Click on september minutes (unapproved).

That's interesting, Better than what they were.

So in theory the new regulations will be adopted for the 2019 fishing season?

currently looking for bait fish info for NY on Lake Champlain
also if I have my quad 4x4 registered in Ma , does it need to be registered in NY, or VT to use it on the lake during the winter?

Still a sign of hope is better of continuing with these crazy current laws, I mean especially on a shared body of water where the other side has different rules anyway....I mean does it make a difference if your bait has been in a bucket or 10 days or 4, not like its going to get any new diseases in there especially wen its restricted to one body of water anyway....:-) happy to see movement for change :-)

??? ::)  Vt. rules can be crazy if you fish the Conn. River??
I live in NH and buy bait that comes from Vt. dealer.   BUT if I take it over the bridge ,drive along the Vt. side for two miles and than carry the bucket back onto NH ice I am violating Vt. law.  BUT when I fish Champlain I can use 15 tipups with yellow perch and sunfish for bait??
