Pelican Point.

Can any Great Falls or Helena guys tell me anything about the pond at Pelican Point?  Never been there.  Heard it has lots of perch.  Taking the kids and would like to keep them entertained. Lol.

Stay away from the north east corner. There are some spots that are barely covered and you can hit rock when drilling. Zoom in on it on Google Earth and you can see where the darker(deepest) water is.https://www.google.com/maps/@47.2002417,-111.7805408,716m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en

Talked to a kid in great falls when I was buying minnows this evening.  He mentioned that he fished one of the ponds today.  Didn't say how thick the ice was but they caught a bunch of little perch, and a couple crappie....

i heard there has been a shack out there the last couple of days. do we have a confirmation that there are crappie in there by ways of a photo, or are we still relying on hearsay? I heard the "crappie" were white perch.

I drove by there late yesterday afternoon and the ice didn't look to be safe at all to me. I did talk with a checkout clerk at Scheels on Saturday who said he fished it on Thursday, but I would be skeptical at best.

Was there today around 12 and ice was between 3 and maybe 6 inches depending on where we drilled. Only stayed for an hour then headed toward Helena more
