Title: Ion G2 10” bit
Post by: nbourque on Oct 16, 2020, 02:37 AM: I don’t see an option on ions site to buy just the new 10” lightweight bit? Any idea? I’d like to pair the new 10” bit with my ion X power head.

Brand new so they are selling it as a full unit. Might send them a text or call them to see if you can buy it.

I'm considering buying the Eskimo Pistol Bit 8", but would be all over that Ion composite 10" if they were selling it separately at a reasonable price.

Specs appear to be for the 8 inch model particularly the weight 3.5 Ibs... although p/n does not match up to anything on ION site

Edit.... I got the same info on it being an 8" bit. I asked if they were going to carry a 10" one, but haven't heard yet!!

That's what I heard back from FishUSA also. :( For those who do bite the bullet and get a new 10" G2 auger, please give us a review after you've had a chance to use it. The 8" G2 bit is on their website for just under $200. :icefish:

The reduction of weight will be a big plus. The rotational mass alone is going to save battery life for sure. A lot of walking early ice, so any improvement helps.

Think they are both made from the same composite material ..but have different input shaft diameters 18mm/22mm
