I was not there for #1 last year but had a great time camping on seventh for #2.

how about schroon lake there is plenty of area and it holds all species of fish for people who jig and use tip ups

I definitely wouldn't say that we aren't going to have this. Eventually the north country is going to get ice...The forecast doesn't look too bad either, so hopefully it'll stay consistent... Schroon isn't a bad idea, but it's pretty much on the extreme east end of the Adirondacks...People may want something a little more central. But I'll let everyone decide where it is!

I'll post a poll sometime soon for the location, and another for the date. Stay tuned!

I don't know how practical this would be, but maybe you could chose 3-5 lakes and make a post for each one separately. In each list the date, lake, fish available to catch and anything else you may find relevant. Then each person that wants to go to that particular lake can add their name to the post.If it'd work, it save you a lot of counting or keeping track as the post would do it all for you. You could also put a link in each post to the posts for the other lakes. Just an idea maybe. Either way, I plan on going to as many get togethers as I can. Not too particular where or when, just need to know ahead of time. I personally like fishing for pike, but the trout can get ok sizes too, so I wouldn't mind trying those out. Never fished for trout through the ice. Also haven't icefished any ADK lakes, so any one is as good as another to me. I like trying new lakes.

We got ice, it isnt safe yet but many waters are locked up, snowfree black ice. another week and we are good to go. (safely)

I'm not gonna guarantee that I will be able to go to this, but it has sparked my interest. Alot depends on when it is, and what my responsibilites around here are. About 50/50 right now. Let me know what lake it is, and I'll see.

I would say a weekend in Feb correct? Can you put up a poll?
My first vote would be Lake George if there is ice. Lot's of nice tent sites out on the islands in the narrows.
Second would be Raquette. My 2cents.

It would be great to have a get together at Schroon lake or Lake George. If they keep the Sacroon manor open for ice fisher-people that would make parking great for everybody. If anybody knows if they are going to keep it open for the season or can find out please advise us. Its a day use area and has grills(I believe) and lots of parking.

I would like to toss Lake Eaton back into the vote. The campsite was just loaded with stacked and split firewood today and the ice was almost ready!
There is always the chance for that monster to bite your line there as well!
