With the warmer temps and rain for Sunday, which will get rid of most of the snow on the lake, followed by a week of night time temps in the single numbers I think the lake should be in really good shape for next weekend.

I've never fished Schroon and would like to try to catch a laker or salmon there. It's a big lake. Can anyone give me a good place to access the lake at an area to target these species? I'm not asking for an exact spot where to fish, just where to park the truck and access the lake near where these species might be present. Any help would be appreciated.

You can park at the north end of the lake off of Dock Street and access the lake from the public beach/boat launch area. There is plenty of public parking there. Just try and be a little more considerate than several people were yesterday. The parking is clearly marked for diagonal parking but there were at least 4 vehicles parked nose to tail in the opposite direction and each one ate up a minimum of 3 spaces each.
