Caribou ake
« on: Jan 09, 2012, 06:00 PM »
Hi Everyone,

I'm a new resident here in the up.  I love to ice fish but have to admit I'm pretty much still a novice.  I tried fishing Caribou Lake the past weekend for the first time with no luck.  (I was shooting for walleye using minnows on a jigging spoon)  I chose Caribou mainly cause the ice is decent and I'm only about 20 minutes away. (9 inches of ice where I was fishin')  Any information on where, when and how to pursue eyes on this lake would be appreciated.

Thanks,

ClamCheeks

There is one deeper hole in that lake to the south east of the launch, I would look there. Chances are that all you will catch is small perch and small walleye ( not legal ).
Fish on !

Thanks Terry,

I'll be sure to share the results of my efforts as the season progresses.

I've fished it twice. The first time ws a few years ago by the dnr ramp at first ice. I caught a few pike and the biggest was 27 inches. The second time was last year in the deeper hole by the island. I didn't catch anything. I ended up going to cedarville for the rest of the day. Both times I was the only one on the whole lake.
