Just got a recommendation to the site from MSF looks pretty neat. I live in St Ignace my target species is steelhead on tip ups. I will be going out this weekend and trying to get a couple of chromers.

Hey, I'm also new to the site.  I came across it looking for plans to build an ice fishing sled.  I live in the Western UP and I try to get whatever I can catch other then bass.  I am thinking about hitting up Gogebic tomarow with some friends.

They escorted nuclear subs in and out of port, so when they were at sea awaiting a sub they trolled.

I know a guy who does stannard rock charters......a few years ago he got hired to take a couple coast guard guys out to stannard rock to do a routine check on the light house.  He got to take a tour of the light house and took some pretty cool pics.  They went to leave after everything was done and he asked the guys if they wanted to drop a line for some world class lake trout fishing seeing they were already there.....the guys replied NO Thanks just bring us back to shore.   All I could think to myself when I heard the story was wow....I guess those guys didn't have much interest for fishing!     I can't even picture a fishing pole on a coastie boat after hearing that one....lol

Haha well im DanaM's son and yes we do alot of fishing on our Patrol Boats and smaller cutters. As far as the people saying no to fishing, they were prolly a bunch of city slickers who have no intrest in the great outdoors.....kinda like 75% of the people im stationed with now in Grand Haven.
