I was very surprised but very happy to see a spot here to talk about smelts through the ice.
There is a fella on this board that makes a sweet tied shrimp.(
http://www.yetifish.com/ ) I bought some last fall and when it came time to use them,they are a knock out bait. Not just for smelts but perch as well.
There are some real nice smelts here. Love me a good feed of smelts.
Nothing like a fresh feed right out on the ice.
And some to take home.
