I'm starting to itch already!

I haven't even had the boat on the water yet but I was thinking of working on the shanty tommorrow. :)I still have some work to do on it for the up coming season. I got 85% of it done last year. I've just been busy on the boat, getting it ready. But due to the GM strike I have to watch my spending. Although for th shanty I have most of the things here to finish it off. Maybe I'll take it out tommorrow and work on it.

Glad I'm not the only one itching to go out. Was in the shed the other day trying to organize my equipment and starting work on a sled this weekend.

i left out my rod holder and my lip-ripper for modifications, and i wonder everytime i see it, am i the only one? i guess not! ;D

Im working on building up my "tolerance" so i can keep up with RC, Fishhead, and scruffy, next year on the gull lake trip!!!!!!!!!!  As for the vex, its sitting in the same spot i left it after i used it last, in my room.  man, time for bed!!!

Got some real work done on it today!
Here it is folded up sitting on the trailer.

Here is the first step to setting it up. Fold the side up and put the poles in place.

Next step, fold the wall down.

Started working on the other side today. Thats right it's double sided and oped all up measures 7'x15'.

Here an interior shot. And yes that's a 20 1/2" small mouth on the wall.

Got the painting crew on site today also.

Here' the auger holder and the hitch.


Feels good to make some more pregress on this.

Holy crap mud!!!!  Im comin fishin with you next year!! That things AWESOME!!! all that its missin is a shoulder mount of a 160" whitetail!!!  ANd a fridge, but ur pry workin on the fridge part today!!!  Awesome shanty!!

Yea, I hear ya all, woke up this morning felt a bit cooler than it has been, ran to the lake to check on ice conditions, was hard to do with all the boats trolling around!!!!!!!

Picked up a couple older 4 wheelers today. Once I got them home, all I could think about was getting the auger mounted and a hitch put on for the shack.

Come on winter.....   Global warmer stinks!!!!!!!!!

Man Ive just realized how much I LOVE ice fishing..I enjoy the summer time..but oh man do I love ice fishing..I cant even wait. I'm going to work on a lighting solution for the shanty this summer...Any tips on power augers..I need to get one and I want to be able to count on it for years and years...Lot of wasted space in the ice auger section. :tipup:

I was out in the boat yesterday and my arms and the back of my neck are both beet red. I miss the ice already, but do enjoy summertime.

Put the last of my shacks away today :-[ I got me a new one to work on though. Its a 12 round grain bin ;D We are going to remove one of the 2 ft rings to make it about 8 ft tall along the walls. I figure I will built a 12 X 14 platform with retractable wheels for it,chimney right in the middle for the stove :P Cant wait. I will get some pics soon ;D
