you think you got a bait setup?
« on: Dec 12, 2007, 07:42 PM »
well folks, kapt has done it again. All I can say about this system is AMAZING!  Its great to have fishing buddies that will go above and beyond,  Im still not sure how the idea to build this started, but being a new homeowner this is something that would have taken me years to do on my own.

Took a little bit of tweaking this morning, but as I told him when I picked it up last night, it was installed and running by noon. I cant see losing ANY bait this winter now. This is just a rough install, bait is coming in friday, so I needed to get it running with a few test subjects. Plans this winter is to add another tank under the main tank, main tank will "overflow" into the bottom and Im also going to mount the pump and return tubes to the wall. best part about the system is I can float POUNDS of leeches in the tanks without setting up a seperate system.

Thanks again kapt.

heres some tank porn for yall

well me and a buddy have 5lbs of mediums (1000-1500) on the inbound, so that will take up one of the tanks.  Ill probably order at least another 5 lbs if not more.  Once I start hunting for golden pond shiners that will be who occupies the second tank, holding at least 200 without a problem.

I can only dream of a set-up like that in NY. Darn VHS.

Yeah, well I love dead bait just as much as the live stuff, esox dont care IMO.  Freezer is going in as soon as I can find the right one.

As far as VHS bait goes, Im looking into getting my bait license, not to sell, but to be able to place orders.  If its not too expensive and its legal, Ill be stocking bait for my NY trips.  Not really sure how that works.  Im sure it probably wont work.  Its all good, I compiled a list of the GOOD bait shops in the areas of NY that I fish, and def do not mind giving them some buisness, nothing but good people up there, cept of course lake george area, cripes ya gotta take out a second mortgage to buy bait up there.
