Got the 2904.
« on: Nov 11, 2022, 11:39 AM »
Sold the Polaris 2 weeks ago so what the heck.  Just went to HD $199 tool only.  Then got a 8.0 AH batt and rapid charger for $249 :P

I found the 8" lite-flite for $169 at Sportsmans Guide if you join then cancel. ;)

Way more $. than any gas auger I've ever had but you only live once- ;D

I just saw this model is rated for 1400 lbs. Of torque, 200 lbs. More than previous models. Is it capable of holding up to abuse of a 10" auger? Also it has "auto-stop" safety feature to save you and the clutch if it gets in a bind. I wonder how sensitive it is or if it's adjustable or able to be turned off if it's not auger compatible.

I think if you really want to run a 10" on a drill, get one of of the clam power drive gear boxes.  or a clam plate with a gear box.  Puts alot less stress on the drill.

It’s only 1400 #’s with a 12 Ah battery, voo doo sales pitch. You’ll love the drill, forget the clam plate but use the safety handle and hold on tight!

Do you have any proof of that?  Milwaukee doesn't say that-

I've been researching the internet and have not found anything about it-

Ditto on the that. I would think that some of the YouTube tool sites would blown up that claim big time by now .

On my 2803/Clam Plate my ION 10" Ultra Lite worked better with my 9ah then my 5ah ...but the 5ah did get the job done.

HD, I stand corrected. I just got off the phone with one of the engineers at Milwaukee, a 45 minute phone call that went from torque to packers versus Vikings to when should I retire to when should I take my Social Security, great guy. The motor in the 2905 is basically the same motor with a different rotor in it and a couple little tweaks, but it does make the difference of the 200 pounds of torque. I asked him if he was a believer in what some of those websites try to convince us that higher amp hours on the battery can increase torque. He said absolutely not, there may be a slight slight slight undetectable difference but so minimal that  it’s negligible. Anyway the 2905 does have 200 pounds more torque with any battery, so I have to admit that I was wrong. He did say I’ve been the third call in the last couple weeks on that so I’m sure I saw the 12 amp power thing in some literature somewhere and he thinks that it was to at one time but gone now.
