NO, but I remember Mutual of Ohma....the old guy would do the voice over and talk about how dangerous the game was that they were capturing, all the while the young guy was the one that had to jump out of the plane, wrestle the lion, trap the croc...ect,ect.....thats classic TV.
That show kept me glued to the screen. Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler I believe were their names. I used to dream about catching athelope in one of those pens they made out of white sheets after chasing them for miles on a dirt bike. Great stuff. I'm laughing just thinking of it.Thanks for the flashback walleyslayer.

Mutual of Omaha was awesome!!!

I have another question.....with Jimmy Houston being the big shot hunter and t.v. personality why does he insist on cutting his hair with a dull axe???

As far as hunting shows how about the idiot with the porn star moustache on "under wild skies Africa"  that guy can't shoot worth a crap.  His guide needs to take his gun from him and beat him with it.  What a teabagger!!!

OH yeah.....Marlin was always like " Our goal for this trip is to live capture a 3 ton African Elephant using nothing but nets and the helicopter....There they are......GET EM' JIM!.....Oh look at Jim as he wrestles with that dangerous beast."   Geez that cracks me up.

Very good show!

Hate:
Tournament LMB fishing - bunch of blowhard meat heads lead by Iconelli, with a few pleasant exceptions
Mark Sosin - just bugs me
John Gillespie - for you cheeseheads, can only watch on muteBill Dance - I know they say he was once one of the greats, he's not anymore

The name of his fishing contest slays me every time he says it.  I can't remember exactly what it is, but this is close.
"...and now it's time for the 2006 John Gillespie's Waters and Woods Mill's Fleet Farm Johnsonville fishing photo contest."  By the time he gets done spitting all that out, I don't even want to see the pictures.  Usually I can't decide if I want cry, laugh, or throw something at him.

My favorite fishing show is Wisconsin Waters and Woods. John is a goofball but it's nice to see a fishing show that goes to the same lakes I do. :)

I loved the carp footage with Pete Mania, Gillespie wasn't even fishing. Said he had a bad shoulder. Had no problem lifting up the 12 pack of Lienenkugel Big Butt Dopplebach, which is only available from October-March, and grilling up a boatload of Johnsonville brats!!! Crappie Rob.

A month ago John had his arm in a sling. He's been complaining about it every week. hehe

Watching Pete Mania fish for carp was pretty funny. :)

Babe Winkleman is merciless when it comes to mentioning his countless sponsors, but at least he ice fishes.  In-fisherman tv is probably my favorite.  Watching while Shaw Grigsby hyper-extends the mouths of countless bass is my least favorite.

As much as I gripe about John, you have a point.  It is nice to see familiar water in a current time frame.  I usually watch long enough to hear where they are and what the plan is.  Then I hit the mute button and start puttering around the house.

I can't decide about Tred Barta.  He's obviously full of himself.  Sometimes he's hilarious and sometimes I hate him.  I would like to see him hooked up with Gillespie, though.  They'd be strangling each other before the first commercial break.

YES!!  Tred Barta, John Gillespie, and Butch Furtman. It would be called "The Three Stooges Fishing Hour."  I'd tune in every week.  Tred would be knifing a tuna or something equally idiotic, Butch would mumbling in Yooperese while wearing his blinding blue waders, and John would be yammering on about a 6" bluegill while sporting that goofy chef's hat (I'm a chef, but that thing is ridiculous);all at the same time. If only I were a TV producer!!

I HATE TRED BARTA, I would knock him out in a heartbeat. One good jab and then the hammer.
If its not the hard way its not the barta way, WHAT A LONG ISLAND A HOLE!
Whats up with the lack of ice fishing shows even for local programing where they have ice.
Charlie moore is much more tolerable especially with the boston accent, I can take em at least he loses occasionally.

Most of these guys aren't real fisherman and are too much of a wimp to go out in the cold ;)

Real Fishing with Bob Izumi I really like. Fish TV i never used to like very much but I think the show has improved alot. Fishing the flats is also a pretty good salt water show if you like henry, he is not my favorite. As far as the dimestore fisherman, I actually met the two guys when i was working at at walleye/pike lodge up i wawa, ontario. They came in for 3 days to shoot a show and really didnt catch much. The fishing there was unreal and yet they seemed to catch nothing..... and yes the way they are on Tv is the same way they are off camera....funny for the first day but after 3 days I wasnt sorry to see the plane take off....

:%$#!: :%$#!:  Tred Barta is such a complete idiot I can't stand it...I can't imagine how anyone would pay to charter a guy like that.  I mean catching fish is great and all but in a sometimes high pressure/potentially dangerous sport like offshore fishing the last thing anyone needs is Captain Bligh...

Jimmy Houston musta crimped a few too many lead sinkers with his teeth in his day.  What a maroon :cookoo: :cookoo: :cookoo:

I'm not real sure what to think about Tred. I think I respect the things he does, like trying to shoot geese with a long bow, or stalking a grizzly with a long bow and homemade arrow, that takes ca-honies. If he's half as accomplished as he claims to be, he probably does half of what he does just to make it interesting to him. Its the same thing I do bass fishing, like throwing nothing but a crank all day even though I know I could switch to plastics and catch 50.......sometimes you just have to make things ...un-boring.

I don't think trying those animals with a long bow is ethical ::)...or safe with a grizzly. but that's a WHOLE other topic ;D

Man would love to see a grizzly attack em, maybe just a debilitating injury or just rip his arm off.
Love to see em doing a off shore show, cranking in a tuna, with a stump to show for the previous episode
