So I plunked down the cash for a 2904 M-18 with 8AH batt. and a 8" lite-flite.
1st time out 7"of hard ice and I can honestly say Ive never used a better auger in my life! Started using gas augers in 1991! :P
Id say it cut thru the 7" in 2 seconds. The drill never even torques your wrist. Effortless is a good word. AWSOMENESS is an even Better word! ;D
I highly recommend it to anyone. Oh the new re-designed handle was a non-issue. just hand tightened it when I got it.
in summation the setup was worth every penny! ;D

Don’t get too brave, hang on. Nice outfit!

I own that same lite flite. Only thing I found faster was the nils which I also picked up. All cut very quick nowadays.

Thanks for the feedback! I've got a 2704, but might be time to upgrade.

The 8AH battery still showing 4 bars I put it on the charger and the charge light just stayed green. After 30 holes now Im weirded out.
Surely you would think it would use SOME juice! :P

I’ve drilled 50+ holes through 10” of ice with my 4 amp dewalt battery and still had plenty of juice left. You’d be surprised.
-
You have the best, but truth be told, for your use it’s overkill.

It would be very difficult to see much power drop in an 8 amp battery no matter what. Definitely overkill unless your goin through 2 feet of ice.
-
I don't think its overkill. I tend to drill an lot of holes. ;)

Same here. Tend to make Swiss cheese out of the ice.
