Finally feels like winter!  Had a very shaky shakedown run to the Adirondack’s that resulted in no fish last Saturday. Went out in the berks Monday and found 5” of ice and plenty of stockers willing to cooperate. Today I dusted off the steel and soaked some big bait. Ended up w a 32” prob like 8lb piker. Good luck and be careful. Less ice than I would have expected. The snow really insulated some spots.

Nice!  The wind this week is brutal, I went out on today and checked 4 places around me and 2 still had open water and looked skimmed and the others were 1 whack through.  I was really hoping for something, even the water hazards at the golf course were open the wind won’t let up

Good fishing with ya monday Pat.  Some of the trout were quite colorful.  Love the pike.

I went fishing today, and was surprised by the relatively poor amount (3" - 4") and quality (slushy) of the ice.

Given the brutally cold temps we've been having, I had expected more and better.

I guess I failed to adequately account for the "blanket" effect of the snow on top

Good start getting those. Healthy pike. Was out today in the area and thought there would be more ice with the cold. There was 6” of just white ice and saw some areas with slush.

Gotta love those chunky healthy pike!  I’m headed out for them on Monday. Way to get ‘em
