Garmin 73sv UHD Echomap
« on: Jan 09, 2024, 05:02 PM »
Anyone on here have one of these?  I have been eyeing one since the fall and a dealer has it on sale for 765.  Curious on feedback if you like it or not, was going to put it in my garage w my new ion and use it hopefully once this winter.

It’s very similar to a lot of the equipment I have on my boat and if I can recreate streakers coming up at my jig like tuna it would enhance my ice fishing enjoyment

Depending on your transducer selection you can see the tuna steak all day.

The GT10 is the ice transducer. Way back when i first started i tried using a boat transducer on a tipup and it was a pain in the ass. The GT10 floats level. As far as how it works i use it in open water jigging and there definitely is a little bit of a lag compared to my vexilar but it works fine. I use it in flasher mode most of the time.

If you're interested in a used one we should talk - I'm seriously considering a LiveScope setup and it sounds like a need at least a nine inch screen. If i do it i'll have mine to sell and it's only a couple years old and I really haven't used it much so it's been inside my house. I would probably keep my transducer but you can get a gt54 for under $200.

Appreciate the feedback and the offer, if I pull the trigger I am going to go new but just thinking this over since my neck of the woods doesn’t make ice in winter any more

Might need to see this next season.  I started looking at some bigger rafts.  42 freeman caught my attention....

Jon do you have the 62 now? I've been told it will work in 130' for lakers but would love confirmation from someone I know and trust.

42 freeman is a nice sled, can grab a nice used one for 1.2 or build a new one in 4 yrs.

The digital sonar module that interfaces w my raymarine screens and airmar b264 makes anticipating the deep bait bite almost within seconds

Starting to lose my conviction, everything was open water today, snow became heavy rain around 9am and it dumped all day. Not sure if it’s going to be cold enough long enough to make walkable ice before the following warm up
