hows the ice?

I personally haven't been up there but have sold shiners in the last 3 days to many a guy headed that way.  Everyone is reporting "its holding up" ( what that means.... who knows ?)    Be Safe

Comet breaking down, lost a good 3 of black and what is left is full of air bubbles. 10 inch auger holes big enough for a kid to go down in some places, especially where water has been running in. Shoreline real shaky have to get on right at ramp. Personally, I'm thik I'm off it till after this rain and we put some cold temps down.

south meadow had 5-6" of black ice with 3-4 of white ice and slush, but i think its melting fast!  i was there for 3 hours (12-3) today and it got pretty slushy...

sad to say but after today and sat . there will be little safe ice to walk on in central and southern mass. i think its going to be one of those iceless winters. sucks.

we need a cold snap!!! 2 weeks + of single digits day and night..  was just on a local pond, 6''+ BUT  white ice not much black..... shore was shakey...  if we get rain,  were ganna be done for!!  -moose

With all this warm weather I am thinking of taking the shrinkwrap off and heading offshore to jig some cod and haddock!  Off course as soon as I do it will go below zero for 6 weeks and snow every day

Would be nice to be out there today!
