As much as I like accuweather's predictions I think weather.com is more reliable.

Agreed, the heaviest pressure on the lake comes from the ice because of the poor individuals like myself who can not afford a sea worthy vessel like myself.

The boat's cheap it's docking it or paying launch fees at the marina's and the sticker that will kill ya at the KING :o

Not just the sticker either if you own a place on the lake add in the dock fees and then the great tax man with his hand out. My grandfather bought the land we have up there for about the price we pay in taxes each year.

I am not giving up on the king yet... we might get one or two of those magic days where there is 3 or 4 inches of safe ice before the end of the season

They are still fishing Harris bay and Warner Bay.  My buddy has been out on Harris bay the past couple days and got some perch.  He said 6" so knowing him you cut it in half and figure 3"-4".

I think I am going to give Vets a try Saturday.. The night time temps still look conducive to ice production.. I think the mild day time temps will get cancelled out by the cold nights and actually make ice? I know I am an Optimist :)  Lets go Lake George Lets GO!

you guys know if there is any ice in Harris or Sandy bay? Looking to get out there this Saturday if there is enough ice and for me that means a solid 4-5 inches minimum. Looking for some perch with a pike or laker thrown in.

Good luck guys and be safe. George is close to a 2 hour drive for me so I going to wait one more week. It looks like it is going to be cold for a while, hopefully it will produce a little more ice. I am going to try Chenango lake for my perch. They cancelled the perch derby so I hoping the fishing is still good.

Great job on the perch....I'm envious.  Will be up that way next Sat and Sun if the ice gods continue to cooperate.
