The rooms are $59 a night

There is a bar and restaurant here so what more can you ask for. They have a large parking lot so there is plenty of room for trucks w/ trailers to park. The rates are reasonable and the food is good. The beer isn't bad either. I had the pleasure of meeting a few of the shanty guys there last year so maybe they can comment on Leisures?

What exit of the NYS Thruway is closest? Rt. 390 dosen't show on my NYS map. I'm in Saratoga County.

Exit 46...Rochester and Corning. Rte 390 runs north/south, when you get off the exit, head south towards Corning. The directions posted on the website for this event will get you there once you're on Rte 390.

Also, alot of you have shown interest in the idea of having bait readily available to us while out there!
During the fall I met a new friend, he owns a couple tackle shops and has a baitmobile!
I talked to him on the phone today and he assured me that he will be there if I feel it will be worth it for him to be there!
So, in a couple days he is going to email me a complete list of what he can have available to us and at what prices. (I can assure you from our conversation that it will be worth it, he is offering cut-rate prices).
After he sends me that email, I will start a new thread with the pricing list, and I would like you guys to add to that link if you are interested or not!
I need to determine this so that I know if it will be worth his time to travel or a waste of time!
I really don't want to waste a nice guys offer if there will be no interest!

If there is anyone in or around the Perry,NY area that possibly has a CLEAN 55 gallon drum that is not of use,
I have a friend that is willing to weld together a nice grill with ski's for the day! He has everything he needs to make the frame and ski's and the grilling but no drum! ANYONE???

There is a great Italian restaurant in Lakeville called Fratellies. You will get enough food for dinner and lunch the next day and it is great eats! The is a Chinese restaurant right next to Vitale park, the usual Mc Donald's, Arbies, Chocolate Bar (great coffee place), Vincenzoes Pizza, Pizza Pauls, and Leisures restaurant. These places are all right on the same strip as the park and the hotel. For more details feel free to e-mail or message me.

My g/f and i went to this event 2 yrs ago, and it was cold!! lol 7 above and windy the keg kept freezing lol i forget all who were involved but we were able to get a gift cert from the OLIVE GARDEN that donated it for a prize, can prolly do this again....i do rember the Rackmaster was it? lol the pirate hut with the big flag?

? lol ARGHHHHHHH what happened to this guy? well we didnt even get a gill, kind of shallow where this was held for my likings but FUN WAS HAD BY ALL and everyone got a trinket most people got 2 things..i can be contacted personnaly via email or threw here, ill watch for the date and will be there if were free....SOUNDS LIKE AGOOD PLAN THX OAK FOR TAKING THE BALL AND RUNNING WITH IT...nice job!!!

Give or take, I have a list of about 50 people so far!
You never know how many will bring guests that didnt announce that they would, or how many lurkers are there either! When I get the hotdogs/hamburgers, i always shoot high just incase. If i have to bring them home its no biggie because I have 2 kids that will tear up the left-overs...lol

Just wanted to let you all know that the thread i started for "the baitmobile" has been very positive and the owner has agreed to definitely be there!
I cant thank you all enough... all of us together is what makes the party idea click! Now if mother nature will get her can in gear and cooperate with us!...lol
There are still 3, almost 4 weeks till the date so hopefully it all works out... but just keep February 11th in mind as well, that is the "make-up" date!
In about another week and a half i will start another thread for "final head count" so that everyone bringing food and such can get a positive track on how much we need... please be accurate with this thread! I know that things can happen, but if you commit to the final count thread, please do your best to be there! Many people look forward to this party, as i spend alot of time reading all the posts, personal messages and emails to my regular email address!

Also... don't forget about the 4wheeler access if we have the proper ice conditions!
I talked again to the new owner of "BETTY'S BAR" and he is a very cool guy!
He just wants everyone to be aware of the housing that he has there also and does not want the areas by the grey house over populated!
He also has the other house that will be rentable by the night or weekend, that would be perfect for a group if there is any, that are traveling a distance and may want to stay a bit longer! Send me a personal message if interested and i will forward the number to you!

Drove by Conesus last night on the way to Honeyoe. There were 2 shanty's on the north end of the lake. I do not know if the whole lake is locked up yet but I doubt it. I don't know how much ice is on the north end but the shanty's were a good 100 yards out on the ice. I won't be long now.

I prefer to have at least 7 to 8 inches of good black ice out there before i say yes or no to the party!
Still have 3 weeks to go though... so if the ice gods continue to cooperate, we should be good to go!

Drove by the north end yesterday on my way to Honeoye and there had to be at least 30 shanties out there. It looked like they were a ways out to. Oak it looks like your derby will be on.

Can one of you guys get us a daily report going here?
Im really kind worried about how this weather is affecting the ice that was out there!
We still have the latter date of Feb.11th if we cant pull this one off, but I'm hoping for the first date!

Keep us in tune if possible!
I will be taking the drive out there the next 2 weekends just to check myself as well!
