Ling eggsac for bait
« on: Dec 15, 2019, 07:37 PM »
Anyone cure ling eggsacs for bait? The fish absolutely pounded trout eggsac (skeins) today and we caught a couple ling that had eggs so I kept them thinking worst case scenario I make a mess.

These are super tiny and a off white cream color almost the same size as perch eggs.  They may not be very well developed but I ended up cutting the eggsac open and doing a 3-2-1 Borax, White Sugar, Salt cure.  So far it doesn't look great but it's worth a shot.

Thought about the same thing last year. Tried them for trout but didn't have a single bite nor saw a single fish.

Well the ling egg sacs didn't catch anything. The eggs readily fell off the skein. Oh well worth a shot.
