fishing reports on the clark fork river
« on: Feb 14, 2010, 01:13 AM »
As many of you know the clark fork river is unfrozen and I have been fishing it a LOT lately and been catching fish every time. probably caught 40 in the past few days. Where? in East Missoula. Sha-ron fishing access golf course side upstream from the bridge. been the only one on it and doing great! here are some pictures of some of the fish I have been catching. they're all whitefish but there is a big brown Trout in there somewhere that keeps throwing the hook. Also I have caught a few rainbows. been doing only catch-and-release.

anyways here are the pics:

as you notice all except one picture is just the fish. I was fishing alone and in a hurry to get them back in the water. hope you enjoyed seeing some fish and the report!

Tight lines,

Tom

I would be nervous to eat anything below Bonner.

ya same here. I only eat the fish 10 miles upstream from Bonner. they seem to be good and healthy... and tasty!

went out again today to the same spot and caught 5 whitefish and a 16 inch rainbow trout. awesome fight on 4 lb test line.

tight lines everyone!

Tom

p.s. happy valentines day!

caught one 14" whitefish today, same spot. Had a ton of bites and had that big Brown on again, got off though. they're seeming to get pretty wary of my presence there. looks like I'm going to have to change tactics. If you catch that big brown, let me know. He's about 24" and has a big girth. had him pretty close to the shore. Saw him clearly and what a beautiful fish! looks like I'm on a fish hunt, LOL.

tight lines (try to catch the big one!)

Tom
