Has anyone checked bradys ice conditions

2 days ago a guy from work went up and said 2 inches.... think you will be ok by thursday. Take a spud bar!

Thanks bobcat , this time of year a bar is a must, will let you know how I do and when I'm going. I have a camo sled with 2 white buckets on it ,hope to see you there

I think im gonna wait another week. I like to have 5", but as cold as it is this week it may be ready this weekend.

5 inches of ice on Brady's today(measured). Solid black ice. Several fishing from boat ramp down to the island, Fishing was very slow.

Fished it today , about 5 inches , couple small ones , but not much really happening!!

May head up that way in the morning to see if there's ice. if there isn't trout fishing it is

I don't believe they stopped Brady's late with trout, they mostly have gills and crappie

Some nice bullhead in there also.
I'm a fan of bullheads.
Some decent bass also.

Was out last Sat morning, ice was 5-6" out front by the parking lot. About 30 guys out on the ice, not much going on with panfish, pickerel were hitting tip ups along the shoreline.

Fished all day Saturday, a little windy but fished all day. Ice was 8 to 10 inches of great ice.Caught fish all day, most were on the small side, but managed to keep 9 big gills\pumpkins and 3 crappie, moved around caught fish in most holes.

I was using a marmuhka (I think that's how you spell them) lure,looks like a little jig head and a pimple, both tipped with wax worms.

Thanks Perry. That's a new one to me. I think they are called Mormyshka jigs. At least that's the closest I found on line. A Russian designed jig. The ice fishing community will now be stocking up on those. ;D Glad they worked for you.

You're right Builder. I see HT has Marmooska Jigs. Fish USA & Fish307 carries them, as I'm sure some of the other sponsors do. Look good.

I've been using Marmooskas for years and have had a lot of luck on them. I always get size tens, any smaller and the fish seem to always swallow them and any bigger seems to be too big. My favorite colors are the orange/chartreuse, green/chartreuse, and pink/white all tipped with a wax worm or spike.

Fished all day Monday. Ice still tight over 8 inches, edges still good..Fishing (a lot of marks and a lot of sniffers )

Fished all day Saturday, all small fish left with 3 gills 1 crappie. Ice still good, shore still tight

Hoping to fish this week,what's the ice look like.

Fished there this past Sunday 7 am to 1 pm. Not one flag. Jigging pretty slow but a lot of lookers. Set up in area close to where builder had his shelter. Good ice at least 8 inches. Edges were good. Hope to be back this Thursday

Fished Brady this morning from 7 till noon. Just jigging. Pretty active early then slowed up. Mostly small perch and gills. Some perch just under legal. Quite a few flags from neighboring fishermen. Saw one small bass on ice, think rest were pickerel. Overall pretty active morning. At least 8 inches of white ice and edges were solid

Update for Brady lake today: about 1/2 inch of snow on ice, but still very slippery

Fished Brady’s Lake today, had the whole lake to myself for the first 2+1/2 hours. Lake had 9” ice and off and on flags all day, all pickerel. Marked a bunch of panfish but could not get one. Only five guys on the lake today.

Fished from 7am till 4pm not one keeper . Ice is 9in white, 3in clear with 2in of snow on top ,edges tight. The only thing you have to do is find the fish. Another week for sure

I would NOT count on any safe ice in Pike/Monroe counties!
Was on Promised Land Upper Lake yesterday at 5:30pm and ice was rotting FAST! Monday it was 6” and SOLID. Yesterday it was 6” but was flexing in areas with each step. Had to back off to get back on solid ice, and after 2 hrs it was flexing there!
When I drilled holes instead of fine shavings I was getting big chunks! ::)
I think your only option right now is Belmont up in Northern Wayne Co

No problem. If you are looking for open water, you may or may not find it at Brady’s. Promised Land was still locked up yesterday, just not real solid to walk on.
