Saranac lake area
« on: Feb 07, 2019, 08:13 AM »
Hello everyone. I’ll be going up to saranac lake for the winter carnival with my girlfriend and am looking to do some ice fishing. I mainly like to go for panfish. Can anyone recommend a lake for me to try? I read that saranac and Colby lake are slow. Thanks.

Both can be goid for panfish. Colby is easy access and just stay mobile, you'll find them

There is good perch and smelt fishing in Lake Clear you can walk out from the public beach.

Straight out front of the parking area at clear has perch. I also have killed the perch on lower St Regis right in front of canoe access on Paul Smith's campus. A lot of smaller fish but tons of them.
