Post by: slabin603 on Feb 17, 2017, 09:59 AM
I'm looking to fish moultonborough area lake winnipesaukee. How the ice near moultonborough neck. And in the bay it's self? I'm hoping to get out tomorrow. Just nervous after hearing about what happened this past weekend.

Moultonborough Bay and Melvin Bay has 15" + of ice , vehicles have been driving on them for a few weeks, going to be sloppy though.  Caution areas of most concern are east side of long island, decent ice on east side of the bridge most of the way out to 5+6 mile islands then the ice changes dramaticly, very bad the more south and east you go along the island.  Any ridge areas covered by snow should raise concern.

Ice was good on the bay when I was out there last weekend, about 15 in like others have said. We and many others had trucks out and didn't have a problem. Be safe as always!
