I am thinking one more year out of the one arm bandit auger and getting the camera this year. THat could change because the one arm bandit has seen better days!

last year i got a fishtrap scout and a aqua view scout. also two guide series combo's, so all i realy want from santa is a power augar. thi year some cold weater that stays around so i can fish the niagara river

Decided on getting a Strikemaster 4 stroke, and the Aqua Vu Zt camera here shortly. Along with a pickup truck to haul all the gear in this year.

Got the truck, Strikemaster on order. Should have it Monday or Tuesday.
Still need to get the Aqua Vu, now leaning toward the Scout. A couple more St. Croix Legend Ice rods, jigs, ..... anything else that comes to mind.

I recently moved back to my hometown in Minnesota from Kansas City, where noone ice fishes, so I have to buy EVERYTHING. I bought a new combo yesterday, a soft sided tackle box last weekend, and I am going to be buying jigs off and on until season starts and probably beyond. I am hoping my dad lets me borrow his shanty this year until I can build one next year.

I'm shooting for the electric auger by Strikemaster in the 6" version. It will probably cost me heavy by the wife (more than likely) wanting a day shopping with the credit card!

Im buying a new snowmobile, got rid of the quad and dirtbike $:-\$ , and most likely building a huge shanty to sleep in this year, beats sleeping in my cold ars cabelas shanty. ... oh yeah lot more tip ups too

I just need some lumber to build a nice shanty. My Eskimo Quick Flip 2 got ripped up in a windstorm last year. It blew across the lake and took the ice anchors with it. I found it on the other side in a tree. I'm sick of cheap, flimsy portable shelters. I want the real deal!

I will be buying the Frabill 6120 Trekker portable ice shelter. It will fit in the back of my Jeep cherokee. I am getting sick of siting on a pail, and the kids will be coming along this season.

maybe a new clam scout. I have a guide but its kind of heavy to pull alone and I go by myself most of the time. Maybe a gas auger if i can find a cheap one.

I don't need a lot of new gear this year, but I think that I will order one of these SOSpender (now owned by Stearns) rescue throw ropes. Unfortunately, we had several fatal incidents last year here in PA with people going through the ice.

The weather wasn't ideal for much of last winter, and so the ice never really got good and solid in a lot of places.

I do carry a rope, but I don't know if my set-up would "throw" very well. This link is the cheapest place where I have found this particular rope (I've seen it for over $50 elsewhere on the web). There are other brands too (Stohlquist, Kwik-Tec, etc.), but they are either more expensive or do not look as good.

and I am definitely getting my first camera which will probably be the MarCum VS250 that will be released in November...

live in N/W Ohio. I get smelt in Michigan (Upper) Higgins Lake. Also found a new lake called Green Lake in upper MI.

The funny thing about it is I know a guy that swore he wasn't going to purchase anything new for the coming season and stuck to it.

The tough part is waiting for good ice to walk on because from now until that happens your mind starts wandering as the temperatures drop in anticipation of that lock down 3 day coldfront and you think about all the new ice fishing products, plus the stores getting there gear out and the sales and it's tough, extremely tough to hold back... So I say why bother

If we could buy the ice and cold weather I would be willing to part with the $$$... Here in N.E. we didn't get alot of ice last year. Would like to pick up a new set of boots. Got a new sled, Quick fish, and heat last year. Just really want a good year for the ice.
