I have a couple times this season. I've caught them cruising in 15 ft channels around shallower areas, but no real consistency.

I've seen a couple really nice ones this year, but most times we only get one or two fish. Lots of pike in between though.

I'm new to the area and there are 4 Dog lakes.     I'm interested to find somewhere that has Splake but not sure which lake you are referring to!

They are referring to Dog Lake in South Frontenac.

I've been out twice.  3 splake first trip, 4 the second trip.  Both half days.  I'm fishing much deeper.

Fairly inactive in my opinion compared to early in the ice season historically.

Thank You.    I didn't see this lake on the Stocking lists.     How many Splake are put in yearly?   Where are the access points?

Access to Dog Lake... there are many access points to Dog Lake, 1 in the village of Battersea follow the road to the lake and you will come to a boat launch, if you follow to road to the north end of the lake you can see the veichicles parked by the road side, your best bet is to ask the local bait shops. most access to the lake requires a lot of walking.

Beauty fish boys! I’ve only ever caught one Splake in Indian it was small. Tired of the BOQ game looking for something different.

Where do you access from Hogan?  I have never fished that side and always stay around Gilmore point area.

From Battersea head towards Hogan's.  On the Burn Hill's Road, you will come to a low lying marshy area adjacent to the road.  You will see either vehicles parked or at least tracks indicating where folks access.  It's a 15 minute walk to splake grounds.

I'm hoping to make it onto Dog Lake for the first time this weekend. Any recommended areas for crappie would be greatly appreciated
