2 people died last weekend at Storm Lake. They were on it in a vehicle.

Was on Storm Sunday.
The fishing was dead. Fished the E and W sides. 12" of ice but open water and a pressure ridge our near the big island.
Talked with a local that had a permanent out and was frustrated with the lack of bites. Nada for 4 days.
Heck the bait shop even recommended we go somewhere else.

Storm is pathetic this year.  Theories abound, I'm sure, but I believe there is quite the shad population that may be keeping those walleyes fed pretty well.

Pretty much my guess. I’m wondering if the zebra mussels are clearing up the lake enough to get some better fish hatches.....or even habitat.
