Last year BigWalleye started a tradition here in Manitoba...it was Kiss a Nessie....so to honor a much maligned gamefish I thought it was a good idea to start something new for those that Love Burbot......I can't think of someone who could outdo Terrygonefishing for his love of Burbot......so.....Ter ry....you are the GrandPoobah of this new club......to qualify for membership, you must post a pic with no doubt that you have kissed a beautiful Burbot here....membership is forever....BigWalleye. ....until you get a permanent girlfriend....you are the GrandPoobah vice-president.......please keep this thread related to all things Burbot....Grump

After TGF's description of BC burbot being longer and leaner than their Manitoba brethren, we might just see BigWalleye packing up and moving west though

I have as yet no photo of me with a burbot yet, but I almost dove in after one in March...fortunately (?) I am a long way from being able to fit into a 10" hole.

Woo Hoo! First ice fishing trip of the year and I luck into a Nessie! She was so sweeeet, I just had to kiss her. So here I am lip locking a 17" burbie out of the !!!!RED RIVER!!!! this afternoon. I can't wait to see her older sisters.

Nope, no problem at all. Just on the small side, so there wasn't much meat on those fillets. I'm waiting for a larger one, I understand you can even upgrade on smacking a Nessie
