I'm back online was offline for quite awhile I've been on the summer forums for awhile now but had to check in here to see who all is still around from the manitoba crew?

Still checking out the ice site, waiting for hard water. Today the temps were in the 27C range, and the humidity felt like 100%, so thoughts of being on the ice weren't too far from my mind. I started thinking about putting together a few more quick strike rigs for pike, but I checked this evening and have 4 left, so there's no hurry for them. I guess we still have a few more months to go before I test the old Jiffy out. Maybe it'll start on the first crank again.......?

Hey a big welcome to the Shanty to all the new guys!! I've run into quite a few people off these sites out on the ice and it's great to meet in person and chat!! Hey maybe i missed it but is TK10fire still around he saved our butts out at delta one year late march we were having a hell of a time gettin back in on quads he pulled us all in with his bravo!! 8)

I don't think he's on here as much anymore, hes on YRF. too, but right now its hunting season so he won't be on shanty for awhile, Jiffy's his nephew.

I'm still checking in once in a while, and will get rolling once the cold weather starts. But this warm weather is sure great for getting things done outside. This afternoon I melted lead in the garage and poured about 50 jigs in the 3/8 to 1/2 oz. sizes, and made a bunch in the 1/16 and smaller sizes for perch. Then I made around 20 - 1 oz. weights mostly for river fishing in summer, and melted a bunch of wheel weights to get some more material. - - - And I didn't put a sweater on until around 5:00. A great day!
