hey all. names Jeremy. I live in SE MN (Winona). fish local lakes and the mississippi. Done for the year now I guess. Been fishing most of my life, but got back into it heavy about 10 yrs ago.

My name is Brent. Lived in Minnesota all 44 years and have been ice fishing since I was 5.

Mostly go for walleyes on Mille Lacs and Lake Winnie, and have found Lake Winnie to be a superior fishery in the winter months. The drive is a pain, but the quality of fishing makes it worthwhile. Usually make it up there 7-8 times per winter.

In the summer, believe it or not, I flyfish for trout in SE Minnesota and Wisconsin.

For ice fishing, I have a nice Ice Castle, a StrikeMaster auger and love my Honda generator.

Fishing on Winnie was excellent this winter.

Brent, Winnie's a long haul from down here. I haven't fished it, but have friends in Grand Rapids and have fished Upper Red and a couple smaller lakes in that area. Highly suggested to give Red Lake a try if your already making trips up north. Where do you live? I'm in Winona. Mostly fished lake Winona (big lake) this winter and did pretty well on crappies. Tip-up fishing this winter has been really slow. Looking forward to hitting the trout streams pretty soon here. This nice weather is sure a double edge sword. I want summer to come to get out in the boat and hit the streams and morrels, but dissapointing to put the shack away for the summer.

I can't believe I haven't ran across this site in the past! A forum dedicated to what I love to do most. I feel at home here when I say I can't wait for hard water! I stumbled across this forum doing a google search for pictures of ice shacks. One of mine got some minor water damage and I was getting ideas on how to 'remodel' it. I live in Waverly, MN. During winter I spend most of my days out on Wright County lakes, mainly chasing panfish and northern. It wasn't until last year until I started changing the game and going for walleye more. I've already read a ton of posts and look forward to posting some of my own. In the meantime I'll sit in the boat and think of poppin' holes in the ice!

Hello everyone,
My name is Tom and I moved to MN a few years ago from St. Louis MO. A buddy I worked with invited me out in the middle of winter to go fishing. Needless to say I though he was flipping nuts! But I went any way I am all ways up for fishing. After that one trip I was hooked on hard water so much that I just got a run down 8'x12' trailer to build my own fish house. I have been scanning the site here and I have found so much use full information I had to sign up. I am hoping to post some before and after pics to show off some of the information that I learned from the site.

Hey Ya'll!! My name's Mitch, I live in White Bear Lake, MN and am eager for this hardwater season to get underway. I've been an open water fisherman since I was a kid. Last winter I picked up a few rods, jigs, tip/ups, etc and got out about 15 times around the metro area. This year I'm going to give it a real effort, I picked up a Clam base camp and am ready to use it. I hit up the Thorne Bro's sale last Saturday and stocked up on a new rod, jigs, line, hooks for my portable, and a nice little shovel. Now I just have to get a sled to pile all my stuff in, find a good deal on an auger, and decide on a flasher (Vex fl-12 or Humminbird Ice 45). Can't wait!

I live in Red Wing but mainly fish on lakes north of Amery, WI. I am hoping to fish more Minnesota lakes this year.

I have been a serious ice fisherman for the last two years. I eagerly await winter to come because I like sitting on the lake in my Clam Yukon, listening to my iPod, and jigging for "the big one."

I have fished north of amery alot over the last few years. I am going to miss some of those lakes.
