Late Ice Georgian Bay Lake Trout

Mornin Folks
The ice was a long time coming this year however we did have a very limited window with 4-5 inches of safe ice. Made the most of it and got out 6 days before the shoreline access and ice pack degraded to an unsafe condition. The lakers were super aggressive with frequent charges off bottom and often very committed. I'm thinking the late start and short season resulted in minimal fishing pressure. Iced 30+ quality lake trout and missed too many hooksets to count. I personally used only plastics taking approx. 50% of fish on a high hook tipped with a white pearl plastic minnows. I pulled together a highlight reel of my trip out with a Buddy this past Monday. We had a blast. Enjoy!

Thanks. Laker season on this body of water was short but sweet. Cheers!
