I like all my tip-ups in by the time it gets light enough to see. First light is usually a hot time for me.

2x!!! get started early!! Even my boys (ages 5&8 this year), get out & on this ice well before sunrise!!

i got out before dawn for the first time last week, and i gotta say, it was pretty refreshing to have that extra 3 hours to fish and set up.

Usually set up before sunrise and have my limit before the crowd shows up.

30 minutes or so before daylight works pretty well for me. plenty of time to get set up before the people start showing up.

30-45 minutes before daylight i try an do, no problem getting up early to fish
