Amazing how things bounce and always end up going down the hole. I lose 1 or 2 depth finders every season.
About a 15 years ago a friend and I were fishing in about 90" of water and he dropped an unopened 2 liter of Coke. We watched it go straight down for at least 30" or more. Then it slowly started to come back up and popped back up through the same hole. We were stunned to say the least. I wish cell phone cameras were around back then. Come to mention it, I do not think we even had cell phones. There was not even a tiny bit of current in the lake.
We didn't catch any fish.

Changed my middle name to "You should have been here yesterday".         Remember it's called fishing, not catching.

Buddy of mine a few years ago dropped a brand new blackberry down the hole... Hilarious! Later that day he also chipped a tooth biting some mono to retie his lure. He also lost his cathardt jacket and tackle box when he started heading off the lake with his car because he put them on the top of the car and drove away!!! I couldn't stop laughing!!!

About a month ago a friend biught a new Frabill ambush thermal flip. The first time on the lake he set it up and I went and sat inside to try it out while he sat outside on a hot hole. Then the wind came up and started to move the sled because it wasnt tethered. As I sat there the wind started to move the house and was getting close to moving it into the heater so i stood up and planted my foot against the ice on the side facing the wind and put my hand against one of the poles on that side to hold it while i reached down with the other hand to grab the heater and i heard s ploop. As I looked around i saw that one of the roof support poles was gone. It somehow came disconnected on both ends at the same time, turned 90 degrees while dropping and went straight down an 8" hole in the center of the floor space.

Many depth sounder's, a pair of $10 reading glasses, I watched them sink to 30 ft on my flasher, a couple of ice scooper's, jaw spreader, hemostat's, to name a few. Forgot a support pole also, I was taking down a fold up shanty with the adjustable 5 ft. galvanized steel support poles, I tossed it outside the door and watched it go right down a hole outside the tent, I could try that 100 times and probably not do that.

Oh I've lost pliers , knives , cell phones. I got the cell phone back. The crown jewel was when my buddy dropped the one and only spark plug to the wheeler. Watched it spin to the bottom.
Look at me I can walk on water

x2!

Mobile phone stays in the truck.  No service where I fish, anyway.  Only item that ever went down was my sunglasses.  Fished 'em back out in about 5 minutes.

Had a handheld GPS with a lakemaster chip in my vexilar bag. When I opened the bag, the GPS fell out and right down the hole. I went elbow deep QUICKLY but needless to say all I got was a wet arm. That was actually the first time I was using it too. That was a tough lesson learned. I hold on to stuff for dear life around the hole.

anything dear to me gets tethered to a retractable key ring or has a float attached to it.
packing up to leave in the dark is usually when most of my close calls happen.

lost a deadstick and fish once-but caught it on my jig rod-all while I took a leak. catfish pulled it in,it tangled on my vibe and got 'em
both.
handheld GPS slid down my carhart pant leg(came off it's tether!) and right down the hole.popped back up just as I started to bawl! ;D
found out it floats

This is why mine stay in the center console. The only thing I take is the keyless remote to unlock it. If I loose the fob i can always use a nearby radio antenna to hit the lock button. And yeas I have done this a time or two.

I was on a bus and just happened to be sitting on a news paper. This guy came up and asked. "Are you reading that ?"
I said  yes, stood up, turned the page and sat back down.

It was the first vehicle I owned. 1992 chevy s-10. paid $400 for her! Power locks, I think not :) hell I was lucky if it had power to start
