STEALTH SONAR OPERATIONS REVEAL ASTOUNDING TECHNOLOGY

“You do of course know sir, that nothing quite like this has ever been done before,” remarked one high-ranking sonar lab-coat to another . . .

The culmination of decades of advanced sonar development, the minds at MarCum Technologies recently leaked word of an all-new, totally dynamic sonar system—the LX-7.

Alleged to provide the optimum blend of ‘Sonar DNA’ from MarCum LX Flasher and Digital Fish Finding technologies, LX-7 represents a sweeping fundamental advancement in ice fishing sonar. What we know for now is that the unit operates on a high-resolution digital LCD platform. Driven by a powerful sonar engine, LX-7 rapidly generates vivid underwater images using a virtual real-time display. Meanwhile, a multi-dimensional sonar viewer provides dynamic, user-defined views of fish, lures and structure, all in an expansive colorful environment.

We'll pass along further details as they become available.

IS--Spoke with someone in the know last weekend and by the sounds of it, the LX-7 is going to have multi, flat screen capabilities.  For instance, vertical representation like the Showdown for total water column on one screen, typical circle representation in another and zoom only range vertically in a third or something like that.  I wasn't quick enough at the time to think of asking if it was going to have on-board GPS technology as one of the screen options.

I wonder if 'multi dimensional" means sidescan? Perhaps Slipperybob will get his wish. Gonna need a bigger sled!

I bought an LX 5 in December and used it for one day. I should have known this would happen.  :woot:

I held off last year because I figured this would happen. All I have to do now is sell my Marcum 825c that I've used once and pick up the LX 7. Can't wait!!

Is there a gps on that thing? I sure hope so. If not I am going to wait.

Can't be an LCD.  We all know that the flasher guys have been saying that LCDs freeze up and don't work in the cold.  They have always said that the spinning disc was superior to the graph.  Now the folks at MarCum have jumped ship and are using LCDs.  Go figure.
