where to tie?
« on: Aug 23, 2011, 10:09 PM »
I'm going to try spearing for my first time the upcoming winter.  I've got a buddy cutting out a spear or two on his plasma table.  My question is,  is it better to tie your rope to the back of the spear handle so you pull the pike strait up  or to the spear head so it pulls the pike up upside down?

You will want to tie the rope to the end of the spear so you can pull the fish straight up.

Had good luck tying to the tines so you pull 'en up upside down (they don't flip around so much).
