Good Morning. 66* and clouds.

Ice-45, hope you are feeling better. I am sure this weather isn't helping.

Eddie, have fun at the "ballpark". It has been a couple years since I have gone and that was Father's Day tickets. We took the train in.

Both the wife and I were "whipped" yesterday from our trip to the city on Wed. I just couldn't get going. Could have been the weather.

Hope everyone has a good Friday....h2l

WS, keep the videos coming. You have a zoo in your back yard.

Nice lower 50's to start the day with low humidity but LES is leaving again later today.

We had a good visit with the wifes son at the VFW fish fry last night. It has been a while since we have seen him. When I was getting in the car the commander of the post came by and pointed at the patch in the black top by my car. He said he had put three wheel borrows of gravel in the sink hole that had develped and need to get some more patch as it had settled.

I saw a Model 100 Winchester in 284 is on the auction site I use. It will be interesting to see what it goes for as it is very rare caliber. I have one that I bought off my cousins estate for $100.00. I have  had a few people that have wanted to buy mine because it is so rare. It was Winchesters answer to the 280 remington  but it never went over.

H2l Hopefull a cure for your head aches can be found soon. hopefully the new doctor can find a fix like Eddie said.

IW Trees Inc have always been good to deal with. This guy went around the food plots on the power line. Years ago  the one doing the mowing ran the mower over the windrow of trees that had been their for years to push them down so they would rot down. They look out for the land owners.

Marv I saw my first poults yeaterday. All I could see was two with the hen but they were in high grass in the ditch.

Eddie I have never been to a pro baseball game. To go to a Tigers game would just be to see them lose again. Plus going to where the stadium is in detroit is scarry. I was glad whne the wifes grand daughter graduated high scholl as we did ot have to go to the Lions stadium right across the street for state marching band competition.

ww I hope to get the toon in the water today. It was too windy yesterday as the wind was to bad blowing at the launch ramp. Hopefully after lunch!

I need to get moving so I can get  some things done out side before LES leaves town.

Good afternoon everyone

It is a miserable day here with dew points in the tropical range. Les came by, teased us, then left. I am not sure if I will leave the light on for him anymore or not

The wind was making white caps on the lake this morning but we  still went out until noon. A water patrol stopped by and asked if we were alright or if we needed help ??? I told him "if you want to row I 'm not stopping you" We all laughed and he took off. He didn't bother asking for a license or anything. The s-i-l caught 2 bass and about a 4 pound pike. I had 2 follows but couldn't seal the deal. Nothing big but in the 32"-35" range.

45 you asked about baits for musky. Basically you have bucktails of varying sizes and colors. You have Jerk baits mainly made of wood, and you have rubber baits that generally have a rubber body and a tail. There are also topwater baits that skim the surface fluttering as you reel them in. A top water bite will get your attention as they explode trying to catch it. What's unbelievable is how often they miss. The box on the left has about 50 baits, the one on the right about 45. I think I have 8 boxes altogether spanning some 50 years of collecting. My biggest musky to date was 54.5"X 26". I have a couple that were 50" and lost count on the over 40" ones. Times are changing though and the competition is at an all time high, certainly not how it used to be.

Here are a couple of boxes that I always take with. Most of these measure 10"-12"

We came home and the s-i-l helped me mow the yard, then she went to mow hers and I spent some time getting ready for tomorrows tree job. My wife is concerned about my knee, so I called our old climber to see what he had going. He jumped at the chance to help me so I won't have to climb. I'm not complaining as it's suppose to be near 90, and back to the tropics.

I am glad you all like the videos. It sure seems there is always something out back going on. Here are a couple that I got of the cards today.

Hope you all have an excellent afternoon-evening  Stay safe.

                         WS

I am not sure what's up with Arrow turkey. I thought maybe she was nesting but low and behold she showed up yesterday with the main flock.

Good Evening Everyone, It was a hot day and supposed to be even hotter tomorrow. Neurologist wants me to see another Dr to figure out pain control. Medications they already tried for that destroyed my taste for things. Most things taste like metal. My wife made a appointment for me to have acupuncture next week. Says maybe my Chakra isn’t aligned.

Whopper Stopper, Glad you had a good day on the water. Thank you for answering my question about the Muskie. That is quite the collection of lures. Can you catch Muskie from the shore?  I started fishing later in life and enjoy it and can’t wait to be able to do it again. That’s good your not going to be climbing tomorrow. Going to be very hot tomorrow. Thank you for posting the videos . So happy to see Arrow is alive.

Tom Turkey, Did you get your toon in the water?

WallyWorld, It’s to bad crime is everywhere, The police just caught a juvenile stealing a car. I hope you had a nice relaxing day.

Ice Wanderer, Sounds like you and your wife had a good Anniversary. Congratulations again.

Hunts2long, I hope you and your wife had a good day and stayed cool.

Mason Eddie, I hope you and the crew stayed hydrated today.

I hope everyone had a great day and tight lines to those on the water. Thank you for being supportive of what i’m Going thru.

Good early morning to those on the east coast and a good late night to those in the Mid West and Western U.S. . Brief period of rain on Thursday no thunderstorm to day was dry hot and humid to start has cooled off with over night temperature in the lower sixties.
IFF there must been some good nesting areas near your home or food source that makes it popular with the raccoons. May you get another fishing trip in soon and the walleye be hungry.
Whopper Stopper sorry your SIL and you did not hook up with any muskies. Glad you will have help starting the tree job sure it makes the wife happy and gives you more time to re-hab the knee.  Like others enjoying the game camera videos wondering how long before you have one of the local bear population on the camera since most of the other local wildlife has visited your home.
Icefisher-45 may the pain specialist have an answer for the headaches. I feel sorry for you the medications you take affect sense of taste. Maybe the acupuncture session will be of some help.
Eddie the weather might be affecting slug activity or you have put a dent in population with the traps. If you try the malt drink in the traps may the slugs like the beverage. Have safe trip to and from Yankee Stadium and great time with your daughters. You may want to visit the Yankee's website today and see how many hours before game time the stadium opens if you get there early enough all of you maybe able to tour the Monument park section of the stadium located behind center field wall .
Hunts2long may you and the wife have more energy today.
Ice Wander glad you and the wife had a nice anniversary dinner. Were you near windows or seated outside so the two of you could enjoy view of Lake George if the restaurant overlooked the lake.
Wallyworld agree your garden should be good on water for a few days after that amount of rain. I,ve been running the AC and ceiling fans to keep things comfortable.
Tom Turkey did you get the pontoon in the water. Glad youand wife had a nice visit with her son at the VFW fish fry. You may want to keep on eye on the riffle up for auction give you idea of current value. Has the parked car been moved yet.

Everyone have a safe and good Saturday. Best to all fishing.

                Good morning Steve, ER's,
It;s 60* and the humidity left for awhile.  ::)
Steve.........We sat out side 5' from the water, 2 Bald Eagles kept us entertained for a while, then the duck swam to their night resting area.
I-45...........I hope someone can figure out what's going on. What's a Chakra? ???
Marv..........I'm glad you got some lake time in, watch those white caps. Take it easy on the tree job today. :flex:
Wally.........The guessers just say it's going to rain just to cover their butts, if it doesn't rain no one cares that they were wrong.
Eddie........I hope you stayed hydrated at work yesterday. :flex:
Not much going on today, maybe MW will bring a couple more chords of wood.
I hope everyone has a good Saturday either at work or out fishing.

Good Morning Everyone, looks like it’s going to be a hot day and humid. Prayers for those in the path of Hurricane Barry.

Ice Wanderer, Remember to stay hydrated if you get more cordwood today. Chakra is the energy in your body. Some people believe if it gets clogged you lose energy. At this point willing to try anything. Pill pushers don’t seem to be helping.

Mr Clean, Hope you have a good day and stay cool.

I hope everyone has a great day and a safe one. Remember to stay hydrated.

IW, nice location on the dinner with the wife.
Ice-45, good timing on the Chakra, my honey-do list is quite long for the weekend. I do find that the more I do the better I feel, or is it I just feel more. Hope your headache gets better.

IW.....glad you're getting your firewood stacked little by little  :flex:  our wood is still sitting in the field, split and piled, waiting for the lawn to dry so we can drive the tractor w/a trailer full of wood across it to the back of the house  :-\

IF45.....hopefully you find the right method of pain control sooner rather than later  ;)

H2L.....go easy on the honey-do list, don't need any sore muscles

Eddie.....have a great time with your daughters at the ball game

MrC.....yesterday was supposed to be sunny in the afternoon, rained/drizzled ALL day  :cookoo:  at least it was a little cooler  :-\

Good Morning Everyone,
Lost another post this am, my fault for certain this time...probably the others as well, lol.
Beautiful weather this morning, 68* with a nice breeze at the moment, high of 83 today. Les Humid is here today, but like a gypsy out on the road, he won’t be staying around too long.  ;D

Marv...hope I didn’t cause a malfunction with the pictures, lol, please just pick and choose a few out to share ....Thank You for all the help Sir!     Hope your tree job goes well today, that’s awesome your buddy is going to help you out, be safe! Congrats to your SIL with  her catch, sorry the chasers didn’t clobber your lure...next trip. Beautiful looking collection of Musky lures!
Jeff..sounds like you had one wonderful meal and evening out lake side for your anniversary, well done!     Take it easy on the wood stacking today....
H2... hope the honey-do list goes well, that’s on my agenda today also. We’re going to take the Metro North train to the stadium tomorrow morning also, but from exactly where yet I’m not certain of, part of the surprise I guess! Believe we’re going to drive about 2/3 of the way and take the train.
I-45...thanks for the explanation of Chakra, I wasn’t familiar with it either. I can’t speak on acupuncture from a personal experience, but understand it has worked miracles for others....will be praying it does for you as well Sir, best wishes!
Steve...believe this warmer string of weather has definitely helped with the garden. Both daughters will be here this afternoon to bring me up to speed on our date tomorrow. Just to be on the safe side, I told my foreman I might be sick on Monday...train lag or missing it possibly!  ;D
Wally...Thank You, hope Mr.WW has the leak problem under control.   Heard the Japanese beetles were in town again...Good Lord, maybe I should empty all the beer traps so they don’t go out drinking after eating all my veggies!    :woot:
Tom... hope the Toon is in the water and you get to enjoy some nice outings out on the lake with your wife soon!

We had a good wrap to the week yesterday, a decent amount of stones in and had to clear the deck for a children’s festival of sorts there today. Understand they are having some sort of train there that will be driving all over the areas we have recently been working on...almost choked hearing that!!   :roflmao:  Not certain how big it is or how many passengers it will be carrying, but I’m almost tempted to just go down there and see it myself....only in New York!   ;D
Still have some Cawfee on...French toast is ready!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

I clicked on my mail this morning and the lights blinked twice, went dim, then restored back to full power. Good afternoon everyone

The tree job went very well. We had it on the ground in just over two hours. I hung around for a little while and cut about half the log up. I will go back on Monday to finish cutting everything up.

WW hope Mr WW can finish up the truck fix  Hope we can get a peek at the pie when it's done

45 lots of prayers and well wishes that things are about to change for you  Yes you can catch musky from shore, a lot of our lakes have fishing piers and very often you hear of someone catching one.

Bud good going on thinning the coon out  I am going to try and get rid of the opossum next week, then maybe thin a couple coon of my own out.

IW how many cords are you going to get ??? Good luck with the stacking, take it slow.

mr.clean I have kind of been wondering if a bear would show up ??? We have never had one here as far as I know, however not that far north there are a lot of them. I am sure the coyote was here because of the turkeys, most of the others because of the food so it wouldn't surprise me to see one.

I checked the cards and found a new visitor  I will have to make a list just out of curiosity as to how many different critters have come to share the corn. Arrow turkey is still around, sure hope she has some young ones. I see the one camera got bumped so I will have to fix that. It looks like we live on a hill ;D

Hope you all have an excellent afternoon-evening  Stay safe.

Good afternoon sunny and in the eighties slightly lower humidity. I see Hurricane Barry has made or is near landfall in LA. prayers for all who will be in the storm's path.
Ice Wanderer getting to see two of our national bird while having an anniversary dinner outside overlooking Lake George is a special treat. If Mealworm delivers more firewood today take your time stacking it in this weather.
Icefisher may the alternative medical work for the headaches.
Hunts2long pace yourself with the honey-do list especially if any of the jobs require you to be outside.
Wallyworld best to your husband fixing the truck transmission leak. Have a good time with your brother sure he will enjoy the coconut custard pie.
IFF hope you are correct about having almost all of the raccoons trapped and relocated.
OldSailor may Les Humid pay a return visit soon so you can do some things outside .
Eddie think you may have to cross the Hudson river at some point in your trip to get the Metro North train. Once again have a great time at the game. May all of the marble work survive the children's festival. Thank you for all the photos of Empire Plaza /Capital area of city of Albany.
Whopper  Stopper how did the tree work go guessing you called it a day after felling one tree and cutting it up once on the ground. Thank you for posting all of Eddie's photos. I have limited knowledge of the city of Albany,NY. so hopefully what i post here is correct the idea for the Empire Plaza came during Nelson Rockfeller's  time as Governor  of NY. believe it was to revitalize part of the city and started in the early 1960's and completed in early 1970's. The Egg building houses a preforming arts theater ,Corning Building is named in honor of Erastus Corning who served 10 full terms as Mayor of Albany he died from heart failure during his 11TH term (1941-1983). The longest term as mayor of a major American city. I see you have posted a game camera update as i type good to hear all went well with the tree work. Remember to check trapping regulations and animal relocation rules before putting out the trap/traps. The turkeys definitely attract the coyote to your yard. Just don't know how your neighbors will feel if any bears should become regular visitors. Think you have gotten some type of scent on the one camera I see the woodchuck and raccoon both checked the camera out.

Everyone have a good and safe day.

Good Afternoon Everyone, today was a hot one. Currently 83 degrees here. We took the pup to the dog park for a little while. He enjoyed it. Got to go to church tonight. Hot dogs and curly fries for dinner tonight. Watching the Red Sox vs the Dodgers.

Whopper Stopper, Thank you for sharing Mason Eddies pictures. They were great. Thank you for sharing your cam pictures. You do seem to have quite a assortment of visitors. Will try and go fishing after my back surgery. That’s great it didn’t take long for the tree to come down. Do you sell cordwood?

Hunts2long, Hope the honey to do list isn’t to bad and your taking it easy and staying hydrated.

WallyWorld, Hope Mr WW gets the transmission leak fixed.

IFF, At least the raccoons are consistent.

Whopper Stopper, How many cords of wood do you have? Do you sell them or use them yourself.

I hope everyone had a great day today and everyone stayed hydrated. Prayers for the people down in New Orleans.

45 I have about 16 cords on hand. Yes I do burn it, last winter it took about 6 cords to get us through. I try to keep a good couple years ahead.  Many of the tree jobs people keep the wood, just like the one I am currently working on. I haven't sold any wood in years, I have a habit of giving it away to people that find themselves a little short.

Hope you have a restful night!

I did get the toon in today. If I had realized how the wind was blowing I would not have. we had trouble getting it off the trailer due to the trailer getting twisted when it went into a hole created by power loading. To complicate things there were three woman on kayaks that would not stay out of the way.

Fire works going off. So much for obeying the new law.

We got word this evening that the wife's brother in law had passed away in Fla. He had been in the hospital for over 100 days. He had surgery to remove some kidney stones. Complications just kept build up after that.

I am headed over to the other place to haul some fire wood and do some work on that house early tomorrow morning.

Good Morning Everyone,
Partly cloudy and 70* this am, high of 80 here today.

Marv...Holy cow...you da man!!      Hope your computer has cooled down.... :roflmao:  Thank You so much for posting all the pictures, very much appreciated Sir!      Glad the tree job went smoothly for you yesterday and you had an extra set of hands to help out....how has your buddy been doing with the old company?
The videos are just plain awesome, great job! So glad to see Arrow back, feel sorry for her, but she doesn’t seem to have any problems moving about with that arrow. Great stuff....Thanks again Marv!
Wally...I’m certain that pie was a big hit! Hope Mr.WW got the tranny leak all fixed up.
Tom...glad you got the toon in yesterday despite the problems at the launch... time to enjoy it now!     We had someone shooting off some big stuff not far from us last night, quite the show!
I-45...hope you had a good time out with your dog, have the headaches let some?
Steve... thanks, and believe your spot on with all of your information on the Empire Plaza. Have heard it told that Mayor Erastus Corning use to have “ people “ at the voting grounds handing out $5 bills to get him votes back in the day, lol.  We’ll be picking up the train to the stadium at Croton-On-Hudson I was told last evening.
OS..think that weather you had will be down in NYC today, supposed to be about 90 down there...it’s not for me either.  Hope all is well out in Ohio today!
Bud...nice job rounding up the raccoons, hope the last one is in the trap today!
Jeff...hope you took it easy on that wood pile yesterday!

Going to hit the road at 6:30, it’s a little over a 2hr. drive to the train station and about an hour ride from there directly to the stadium I’m told. Should leave plenty of time to get a nice breakfast and check out the stadium before the 1:05 game. We have right field seats near the foul pole I’m told, so maybe a homerun ball will come our way!   ;D
Will catch up to you all this evening.... and once again, Marv....my many thanks for sharing all those pictures, wow!
  Cawfee’s on....
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good Morning ER's  Hot and Humid is the word here. Eddie enjoy the game with your daughters today. Right field line should be great position for a ball to come your way. Nice of Marv to post the new pics and videos. My mother said we had turkeys with young ones in tow here the other day; I missed it sorry to say. I got a nice garage sale score again 2 new polar tip ups, a hook sharpener. and a thill lighted slip float and a dewalt drill bit case to match the dewalt drill I got a little while back at a garage sale. I payed just over what the thill float would have cost new. Relax and enjoy your day.

Good morning Eddie, Old Goat, ER's,
It's 66* and clear here on my hill. Another nice day ahead. ::)
Eddie...........Good idea taking a train to the game, I think Melrose is the stop you want to get off. When I lived down in Westchester county
as a kid, a bunch of us would take the train to Melrose for $1.50 and get in to the old Yankee Stadium for $2. Those were the days.
Have a good time at the game. Marv did a nice job on your pictures, looks like a lifetime of work to be done there. :woot:
Wally..........Do you and Mr. WW have a wood shed? ???
I-45...........Good luck with the cleansing,I hope something works for you. :flex:
Bud...........I guess you can be called the Raccoon whisperer. :roflmao: Good job rounding them up.
Marv..........Good job posting Eddie's pictures, after seeing them, I should take my wife to the the Mall maybe I will run in to Eddie.
I've always wanted to get a couple years ahead with the wood, your a smart guy. But being in your line of work some wood comes your way.
Again excellent videos,  I know you put the cracked corn out for the Turkeys, is there a law in Minn. about feeding deer.? ???
Tom..........Sorry to hear about the problems at the launch, enjoy your time on the toon.
I finished stacking the wood that I have, just waiting for more to be delivered.
I think today I'll mow the lawn.
I hope everyone has a good Sunday either at work or at play.

Good morning. 64* and looks like a nice day on tap.
WW, hope Mr. WW got the truck repaired. I was never very good at fixing anything that ran on gas.
WS, keep the videos coming. Arrow turkey is something!!!! A friend once shot an 8pt buck with just the broadhead in the bridge of its nose. It was healed over and had been there for some time.
Eddie, hope you and the girls enjoy the game today. You should get to see Judge real good and maybe he will hit a couple your way. Thanks for the pictures of "downtown" and Thanks to WS for posting them. Also, Mr. Clean for the history lesson.
Got most of my chores done yesterday. I have to pace myself or else the wife won't take a break..lol.
Have a good day....h2l

Good Morning Everyone, Not sure what it’s going to do today. Weatherman can never get it right. Wife enjoyed watching the game last night even though the Red Sox lost. Headache unfortunately is the same. My wife says she has a surprise for me today.

Hunts2long, Great job on getting chores done. Good idea about slowing down so you don’t get more chores.

Old Sailor, Hope your staying in ac so your copd isn’t to bad. When I was on the Ambulance we transported a lot of patients with copd issues.

Ice Wanderer, Hope you get your lawn mowed today. Your house must be warm in the winter.

Old Goat, Great find at the Garage sale. My wife loves yard sale shopping. Hopefully she’ll be able to do that again soon.

Mason Eddie, Have fun at the game today. Hope you get a ball hit your way.

Tom Turkey, Prayers for your families loss. Sounds like your putting the toon in the water was quite the undertaking.

I hope everyone has a great day and tight lines to those on the water today.

Good morning everyone

Looking to squeak out a 90 later today, with the same putrid humidity :%$#!:

Eddie no Thanks necessary Sir  I am always happy if there is something I can help with, your pictures were beautiful  Hope you have an awesome time at the game. Are you bringing a glove ???

IW good going on the wood stacking. Hope the mowing goes well

mr.clean excellent comments with the history lesson, very interesting

h2l I always get amazed at how wildlife can prosper even with sever injuries. Lat fall there was a huge buck visiting that had a busted front leg. I never could find the videos from him. I am guessing either computer or very likely human error ??? Glad you enjoy the videos.

TT condolences and thoughts to your entire family for your loss.

The s-i-l and I just got back from a bike ride. I will tell you, whoever invented a bicycle seat should have it shoved up their discharge chute :woot: I sure don't remember the discomfort when I was a little kid riding them, I am sore.

I guess we are taking a ride down to the jungle for some shopping so I have to get going. I will check the cards when I get back.

Hope you all have an excellent day  Stay safe.

Morning all,

TT......thoughts and prayers to you and yours on your loss  :'(  boat launches are always interesting places  :woot:

OS.....fingers crossed the humidity in your area breaks soon so you can enjoy the outdoors again  @)

IF45.....curious to hear what the surprise is  ???

IW.....we have a lean to against the back of the garage that we stack our wood under, the boiler is just inside the back door of the garage so it's very convenient, no traipsing thru the snow & cold to get wood  ;)2

Eddie.....great pics of the capital, lived in NY all my life and never visited there   hope you and your daughters have a "ball" today at the game (pun intended  :roflmao: )

H2L.....hope you and MrsH2 are having a quiet Sunday and not working too hard on the list

WS......thanks for posting Eddie's pics   they make some nice gel seats for bikes that might make your ride more comfortable  ;D

The truck repair is done  MrWW bought 3 new lines to replace all the old ones even tho only 1 was leaking, figured it was the smart move while the truck was torn apart  ;)  got it all put back together, started it up and fluid was pouring out from somewhere  :o  after several hours of searching and removing the lines he discovered one of the new lines had a hole in it  :%$#!: back to the dealer for a replacement line  ;)  all b ;)ack together again, start it up, now it's leaking from a connector in the front of the radiator  ::)  back to the dealer for a couple new connectors.....finally success   good to go now till the next thing wears out

Pie is ready for dinner tonight, looks good

chicken and asparagus on the grill, broccoli slaw & sweet corn will round out the menu  ;)2

Have a good day whatever's on the agenda. Stay safe.
