I was going crazy this fall waiting for the ice. I was able to keep my dock and pontoon boat in a couple of extra weeks because the crew that takes them out at our homeowners' association had scheduling conflicts. This worked out well for me as the weather was nice and we got some good fishing in. However, we had a lot of windy days, ,which made it almost impossible to fish from the pontoon boat. I was looking at the dock and noticed that the gap between it and the boat hoist was about 6 inches. That's the same as the diameter of my auger. So I brought my ice fishing bucket down with my ultra light HT rod, a tungsten jig and a jar of power grubs, sat down and gave it a try, even though it was 75 out. The rod immediately took a bend and I caught a small bluegill. I didn't catch any keepers, but I was having fun so who cares. I think I might need a 12 step program. What do you think?

Lol, I think it was a good plan to bide some time until you get some ice!

Yeah you're an ice fishing addict like countless numbers of us here and there's nothing wrong with that.

Bummer dude. Welcome to the club.
Wait until you dream about drilling holes in the concrete floor at work or the grassy strip between the sidewalk and the street to set tipups. I actually catch fish in those places... :woot: <sigh>
C'mon ice!

My dock is on the west side south of Pickerel Point. I also am thinking of drilling a couple of 6 inch holes in the pontoon boat for those calm days when I can sit right over the deep hole jigging rapalas for walleye. Oh man I am really sick. HELP!!!!!
