best collapsable hardsided shanty plans?
« on: Dec 02, 2003, 11:30 AM »
I want to build a 6x8 collapsable, hardsided shanty. By collapsable I mean, able to be taken apart.( 4 walls, 1 floor and 1 ceiling) I need to haul it in my otter sled behind my snowmobile, and then at the end of the season put it in my basement (walkout) thru the patio doors. any suggestions would be appreciated.

use hinges w/ removable pins. cut the wood to the right size, then attach hinges that will connect w/ each other then add the pins, pretty simple, draw it on paper first, then go by what you drew.
Pain is temporary, trophies last forever

How big is the otter sled? and would you build it with skis would or "could" replace the sled?  Is this a portable unit or one you leave out on the ice all winter?

its a 8ft otter sled.  i want a portable "permanent" shanty. the main problem is weather sealing a take apart shanty. anyone could cobble something, ecspecialy me, but i want good plans to start with.  large hinges might work, but i would need a 6ft hinge woudnt i ?
