Hands down my Black Diamond Headlamp, purchased it for setting up goose decoys. But I can see it coming in real handy for setting up and taking out tip ups after dark.

This season has been just fine tuning. But last years game changer was the ION auger. I will not go back to gas! Friends that used it have went out and bought one.

Last year I bought a Vexilar FL-8 and the few times I got to use it I loved it. This year I got a Frabill ice suit coming, assuming it's going to be drastically better than wearing carharts.

Picked up a Strikemaster Mag 2000 w/10in chipper in the off season for $60. Had a leaky carb. Replaced with a brand new carb and now I have a whopping $85 wrapped up into a good running auger. Runs better than my buddies new $450 Jiffy

Rapala Sherpa pop-up. I am warmer, and since I can see the fish I improve hook set. For these reasons it's been a game changer

I finally went all out on fishing equipment this year.
Marcum LX-5 and the Showdown
Eskimo Flipmo2
Four rods, each equipped with a different presentation
Portable Buddy Heater
Strikemaster Lazer Mag
Prior to this season, all I had was the auger and one pole!
Most people are complaining about the winter here in MN. Well, I am, too. It has been so damn cold. However, we were fishing the first week of December, so that was a big game changer!
