The dad and I decided to put the row boat in the water and try some icefishing tactics in the open water. We used icefishing rods, and my make shift tip-up was a slip bobber rig baited with a bluegill

We headed out with the oars and a trolling motor.

on our way out we found out the battery was almost dead, so we oared the rest of the way. The wind was blowing in strong so we pushed ourselves to the edge of the ice and it held us there like an anchor.

the beloved rockbass was the first caught by my dad

some of my gills

then we ran into trouble, as we were pushing ourselved out of the ice, our already injured oar broke

my dad got on shore and walked home to get the truck. about a 1/2 mile away or so.

I went 2 of 3 for pike on the slip bobber rig

this one came in at 25"

hunting wise, I aced my first bow-squirrel. I was proud of this one

Nice mess of pics man! And that is one of the fattest grey squirrels I've seen in a while!

thats pretty cool.... a big squirrel also ive been tryin in the back yard with the bow for a squrriel yesterday.... just missed him at 30 yards

haha ive been trying for a while too, I cant believe how close ive gotten without actually hitting them

same here withing inches idk the just dont want to seem to hit lol just missed two again outside

Ive always had trouble getting them, but my shots are getting better and better. I knwo if I have a deer come in at 10yards, hes cash money

same her ive only had my new bow for 4 months but im good shot at the deer target at 30 yds but just seem not to be able to hit a squirrel at 25 lol yea im only 16 so i got some time

tryed shooting the target at 37 today... did rather well till a wind gust came and carried my arrow downward

snapped my arrow!! aghhh wut u gunna do lol ....

Nice job pikemaster, making me jealous! I want catch some pike, I'm jonesin' bad!! It been a while.....

Nice job on the squirral. Very impressive. Should make hitting a deer no problem!

i no it wasnt thick but how thick was it

u caught the pike on bluegills? how big where they?

most of the ice was skim but we ran into a few places with a half inch

I ended up using 4 bluegills through the course of the day, lost a pike on a 4" gill, lost a fish on a 3.5" gill. landed a 22" pike on a 7" gill

, and landed the 25" pike on a 4"gill

I was hoping my practive shooting squirrels would help deer hunting. Now if I can just get a deer in shooting range.

yea I hate em, they alwasy destroy our bird feeders and eat our tree plantings. They taste pretty good too

just keep shooting right over there heads about an inch lol and every time i aim a tad lower the seem to " jump" out of the path of the arrow..... its more of a run for ur life technique with leaves kicked up and such

Was out a little bit this week and the pike action was very slow. Did manage to get one here at 30.5" real heavy fight. Still waiting for that monster. Pannies wernt cooperating either, they were few and far between but I think it was the weather.
