My family and I stayed at a motel in Speculator and I thought at that time, I wished I could spend sometime up here fishing! JUst a very beautiful area! It must really be nice, too! Having enough ice to ride a snowmobile on! ::)

Camofish,
You are to be congratulated for being such a good example! Your son is one lucky boy. Being taught the art of fishing by one of Ice Shanty's best!
But get that kid some camo clothing.

I love fishing the honey hole.  :-* It's awesome to beable to have a spot all to yourself.  ;) oh yea, and plenty of ice, 9 1/2" of solid clear ice.  ;D still got a few more trips in me.  ;)

Now, I went to the bait shop and got bait for tomarrow.
Check it out this is 1 doz. golden shinner down on bottom and 1 doz. icicles.  :o

Not back at all for only 2 doz. bait.  :o try more like 4-5 doz.  ;D
Hope the fish are hungry tomarrow.

Ok, maybe one of the last times on SAFE ice.  :-\ Got out yesterday with Deposit, we fished from 6a-2p down at honeyhole #2, hoping that the wind and rain would hold off for the day.  ;) We got out on the ice and got all of our tipups in with big bait looking for that monster, that never found our bait.  :'( But we did end up with a flags and a little jiggy bite that came and went during the day.  ;D
Deposit started out running to a few drop and run flags and then me too, the fishies were winning at first light.  :-\ The rain came and only thing that we could catch were a few gills and a perch here and there. Then the sun came out and the flags were flying high for about 5-10 mins or so and I ended up with the biggest fish of the day. Not a monster but a keeper at 22", here is Camo's 1st NP on the ice this season.

Then another, much smaller, but a pike, just what we were after.

Then the clouds and rain rolled back in.  :-\ And back to the jigging game. At the days end this is the take for the day.

Well back to the report.  ;D After the second little rain shower, the sun came back out and I had moved 3 of my tipups to a different part of the lake and started running to a flag and all of a suddent, 2 flags running high. So, I was yelling at Deposit, he could see the second one, "go get it" I was saying, so with the double, I iced another small pike and Deposit iced a small bass. And then back to locating some jiggy fish.  ;)
Now, back to the days end...Camo ended up with a nice little take home meal for Deposit...and a believer in the sonar unit  ;) Camo out fished Deposit close to 20/25-1 that is sonar vs. no-sonar.  8)
So here is Camo with  (2 thumbs up) on a few nice fish on the ice, and it won't be possible with out, meeting up with BigRed last year in need for cash and sell Camo his extra sonar unit.  And the sonar unit has a nice new home.  Thanks BigRed...

Is there going to be another trip on to the ice or not? That is question...I still have tons of bait, too.  :-\
Fish On!
P.S. thanks Shawn & Jack for the info guys, we found a few fishies.  ;D

Nice job Camo_Fsih glad to see  the old Zercom is still being used to this day. That was the same exact unit (bigred's old one) that got me hooked on flashers. Used it for a whole year before I got my own.

Hope you get out a couple more times if the ice makes it through this warm spell through tuesday morning then it should hold up for another week im hoping :)

Yea, the old Zercom is still going and has great new home.  ;)  ;D

I saw the cold is going back, and can only hope to get back out for another or so trips on the ice, but if not, wouldn't hurt my feelings to get the boat out either.  ;D
