Was talking with a friend about you ski problem. He though the hood off a car cut in half might work. Should be cheap from a junk yard.

Finally skis are in progress. First garden test went well. To bad it's not enough snow to test in forest yet...

Coldest day so far this winter (-2F/-19C) but still need of more snow. Today I just had to take the sled for a ride, but trailer skis need a bit more adjusts, so they have to wait. Nice to warm up in the shack after the ride.

I know this is an old post but I just looked through it and was looking at how you put that bench under the back to prevent tipping when not hitched and thought I'd share how I've solved that problem in the past. You can take one or two old scissor jacks and weld them to the back corners of trailer and bring your cordless drill along and run them up and down in no time. You can get them cheap out of the backs of junked cars. not sure if they expand far enough though. Just thought I'd share. Nice looking shack BTW.

Since the buildning process is finished this probably can't be an update, but aswell a final result. However, there's a movie on youtube that I need to share wih you. This summer I replaced the fourwheeler (Yamaha raptor 350) with a larger (700). To safely manage to travel slow with my kids inside I bought a small simple chinese atv.
The "Camper module" is now a important part of our weekends. Is there a better way to eat the afternoon sandwiches?
Enjoy!

Even if this project was named "...non-fishing", it's a bit tempting to take the trailer to nearest lake (3 miles) and try my luck. I promise to update with pictures!

This isn't the first time that question came up. Since the trailer is a standard chinese ATVtrailer it might be a market!

mh: I was thinking you should consider using a ratchet strap to secure the wheel to the ski in case you hit a bump and the trailer gets a little airborne in which case the ski could fall away?

Might be useful, but "airborne" is made by high speed. My trailer has too high mass center to allow almost any speed at all.  ;) Before it will jump out of it's skis, it will tip sideways!
