I had a few hours to kill this afternoon and I thought, what better way to kill them than to go icefishing. But I needed a goal, so I choose to try and catch the smallest perch I could from an Adirondack lake.

It was just a little windy out there:

We kept getting on and off snow squalls:

At first I kept catching bigger perch than I wanted:

I even managed a few smelt:

But finally I caught the smallest perch of the day:

I dont know about the perch but that is a trophy smelt

Thank you. Most of the smelt were smaller than that though. I just wanted to fish differently today. Thus, the quest for the smallest fish.

tons of tiny perch right there i as there around christmas and caught probably 50 of them little dinks

The laker and that pickerel. Wow those are small. Yet I'm still jealous of that laker because I have yet to catch one
