Made a trip to Cabelas this morning and found that the ice fishing gear is on sale.All shelters and augers 25% off. All rods and tip-ups 20% off and all lures 40% off.

They are running this at Hamburg too: "the end of season sale". Pretty funning, considering it is the beginning of the season for a lot of people.

Didn't notice the prices or makes of the hand augers ( I have one ) but I was looking at the gas ones. Also bought a Cabelas (Marcum) repaired flasher for $120-. Used it today and it worked like a charm. It was in the bargain cave.

Walmart has one for 30 some dollars,probally cheaper than Cabelas.
Still waiting for that huge crappie to land in my frying pan.

Its most likely the HT augers which are by far the cheapest on the planet...and I mean that in terms of quality as well as cost....I bought a 6" a few years back and the blades lasted maybe 50 holes before they were too dull to cut...For the extra $20 or so go with a Mora or look for a Lazer....the replacement blades cost more but they also keep their edges much longer

Does anyone know if they have any specials on the Jet Sleds at the Hamburg store?? my little Home Depot sled is just getting way too cramped with all the toys
