Title: North Zone Trout
Post by: saskamoose on Apr 10, 2020, 10:48 AM
If a guy was to head north and try some trout before seasons end on the 15th, what lures/bait could one recommend?

New to the trout gig.

Thanks!

Assuming you are talking Lakers.
White or pink jigs tipped with a minnow, buzz bombs. Really helps to have a flasher as they can be anywhere in the water column.

Buzz Bombs definitely work for lakers up this way.

Caught a nice one a couple of weeks ago jigging on Nemeiben Lake. Lure was a green/yellow Chubby Darter with a minnow head on the belly hook. Near the bottom in 18' of water. A spirited fish compared to the jacks and burbot.
