a ? about basics
« on: Dec 20, 2005, 06:39 PM »
I'm not much of a walleye fisherman.  I've only ever caught them on accident, and never throught the ice, but I'd like to change that.  Can anybody offer some basics as far as where to look for them on a lake, and basic tactics for a beginner.  Thanks.

Jeff

Wow thats a hard question I cant give you a deff answer on what too use but if you are a tip up fisherman then try emerald shiners on steep drop offs and rock  piles/ledges and humps during the day and early morning at night set tipups near these same areads in 4-15 fow  i dont have a lot of experience with them. they are deffiently hit or miss some days tou can catch 20 of them others maybe one if your lucky

good luck

That is a pretty loaded question you have. But if you really want to learn you have come to the right place. Read everything you can on the web site. Ask as many questions you can at bait shops and sporting goods stores. people love to tell you there story. Just be a good listener and you will learn.
