Those are some sweet fish!!!!!!!!! Have always wanted to try Red Lake, how good is it? I would be driving about 300 miles. Is there any shacks to rent that you could sleep three people in overnight? That would be a great family weekend.

Here's my two biggest, caught both of 'em on the same lake. I've posted 'em elsewhere but figured it couldn't hurt to post 'em one more time! I found the gem just before ice out and only got out twice, this was my reward!!!

I've been doing a lot of pre ice scouting over the last couple of weeks and we've been pounding them pretty good in that time. Many in the 13-15" range. Here are a couple of 15" fish. The last one is a 16" that my son caught a couple of days ago

I've been using a 1/16 and 1/8 oz jig head tipped with a small shiner. I've also done well with a 1/12 oz Kastmaster tipped with a shiner. Most days they liked the deadsticked rods better than the jigged rods... I'm headed back out in the morning again, can't wait!

Kay I barely know anything about crappie and have only caught a few before but I just got a quick question. How come most of these trophy fish are being eaten? I'd figure it'd be the same thing with walleye ,that you should let the big ones back to reproduce cuz' they have the most eggs and they're not as fresh as the smaller walleye too, wouldn't it? Thanks

One lucky night in a small private lake I live on. All 17"+ The last pic is of the 4" Rapala that they all blasted twitched on the surface after dark.

Havnt caught on to the pic thing yet but last year I took my 7 year old grandson out for the first time and the little bugger got a 4#r.Good thing is he`s hooked for life.

If you happen to make it through Columbia, Mo. stop at the Bass Pro. The new world record...caught (here in Callaway County, Missouri) by John Horstman is swimming in the showcase tank. Freakishly huge-monster fish. The photo does not do it justice. I can't remember the nickname they gave it but it is an awesome sight.

If I had a lake that consistently produced those type of monsters, I would take you, but that one was just being in the right place at the right time... god was definitely with me that day. After she spent a night in the bait shop minnow live well, I let her go... gotta keep those genes going for some other lucky S.O.B... hopefully me, again ;). I would be just as happy to have our ice back.

Dam guys, great fish. My biggest was 15" jigging with an ice pole on the end of a dock in late summer. Nobody was with me so I don't have a pic. My biggest one ice fishing is only around 13"

the biggest i've gotten is 11"! and that was while jigging for bluegills, luckily for me the crappie i catch are rarely too small to keep.

Man I never realized, I was never much of a Crappi fisherman, my friend just got a flasher and we have started. When I got my 1st (3 in a row) all 17 and 18in had NO idea what I had as i fish for pike and so an 18in fish was small. This year through the ice, mostly 12 and 13in one just shy of 15. I guess we have it good here or maybe I just have had some good luck and now that I am trying ... well you get the point

Consider a fiberglass replica though when you get your monster. I once caught one over 17" and put her back. I am thinking about having a fiberglass reproduction done from photos I took.

Afraid not BBK :nono: ! The one on the left is a 2 1/2 pounder and on the right is a 2 1/4 pounder. You may not be use to seein' them that big, but that photo is untouched and I defy you to have it professionally annualized :callcops: !
